The top status line is an invariable attribute of a mobile phone that appeared at the dawn of cellular communications. Blocks and restrictions

The iPad status bar at the top of the screen displays small icons that provide a variety of information about the current status of your iPad:
Air mode: You can use your iPod on the plane after the captain gives the floor. But you cannot use a mobile phone or iPad Wi-Fi + 3G or 4G, except when the aircraft is in the gate area before takeoff or after landing.

VPN: This icon indicates that you are currently connected to a virtual private network (VPN).
Lock: This icon indicates when your iPad is locked.
Screen Orientation Screen: This icon appears when screen orientation lock is enabled.
Play: This icon informs you that a song is currently playing.
Bluetooth: This icon indicates the current state of your iPad's Bluetooth connection. If you see this icon in the status bar, Bluetooth is on and a device (such as a wireless headset or keyboard) is connected.
If the icon is gray, Bluetooth is on but the device is not connected. If the icon is white, Bluetooth is on and one (or more) devices are connected. If you don't see the Bluetooth icon, Bluetooth is disabled.
Battery: This icon reflects the battery level. It is completely filled when you are not connected to a power source and your battery is fully charged (as shown in the picture). It then empties itself when your battery runs out.
The icon shows when you are connected to a power source and when the battery is fully charged or is currently being charged. You see an on-screen message when the charge drops to 20 percent or below, and another when it reaches 10 percent.
