How to change channels with a smartphone. The most convenient way. Connecting a smartphone to a TV

Almost all modern TVs from LG, Samsung, Sony, Philips and others (supporting Smart TV) can be controlled (switch channels, adjust volume, launch Smart applications, etc.) using a phone or tablet. For a clear example, I’ll show you how to control an LG TV from an iPhone (everything will be the same for Android). By the way, this guide is suitable not only for LG TVs, but also for Philips, Sony, Samsung and others, the only difference will be in installing different applications (each manufacturer has its own).

In order to control the TV, it is necessary that the TV and smartphone/tablet are connected to the same local network. It is also necessary that the appropriate application be installed on your smartphone/tablet. In practice, it looks like this: you need to connect your TV to the router (via Wi-Fi or network cable) and connect to the same router from a mobile device.

There are quite a few applications in the App Store or Play Market for connecting mobile devices to a TV, both paid and free. In this example, we will look at applications that were developed by LG.

At the time of writing, there are three applications:

Links for iPhone/iPad (iOs) Links for Android
LG TV Remote 2011 (iOs) LG TV Remote 2011 (Android)
LG TV Remote (iOS) LG TV Remote (Android)
LG TV Plus (iOS) LG TV Plus (Android)

LG TV Remote 2011 - this application should be used for TVs manufactured in 2011

LG TV Remote - this application is suitable for TVs produced in 2012-2013.

LG TV Plus - this application is intended for TVs produced in 2014 and later with Web OS.

More detailed information can be found in the description of each application.

In my case, I use an LG TV with Web OS, so further we will talk about setting it up.

Attention!!! To avoid problems with connecting mobile devices and managing them, we recommend update TV firmware .

After installation, launch the application and turn on the TV you want to connect to.

Allow the program to send you notifications.

Click the "Start" button.

Accept the license agreement.

The program will scan the network for the presence of TVs and indicate them in the program. Select the one you need, in this case there is only one.

A PIN code will appear on the TV.

Enter it on your phone/tablet.

As a result, you will see a control menu that is quite easy to understand.

Please note that there is more than one menu. In one of them you can launch a Smart application or switch the input to another device.

If you don't know how to connect your phone to your TV via WiFi, we will be happy to tell you how to do it. The whole process takes only 2-3 minutes. Read our instructions below:

Method 1: Connect via router

First of all, you need to establish a connection between the TV and WiFi router, and then on the TV you need to activate the function with which the phone will connect to it.

Let's look at how to do this using the example of the most popular brands of smart TVs:

LG

To connect your phone to an LG TV via WiFi, you need to:

  • go to the TV menu and go to the “Connections” tab
  • activate SmartShare feature
  • select a phone from the devices available for connection.

After this, you can choose what exactly you need to do from your phone or smartphone - mirror the screen, control the TV or access files.

Samsung

Connecting your phone to a Samsung TV via WiFi is similar to connecting to an LG, but instead of the SmartShare function, you will need to activate the AllShare function.

Sony

The most convenient way to connect to a Sony Smart TV is from smartphones from the same company, for example c. To connect, you don’t need to configure anything on the TV itself - everything will happen automatically, but on your phone you need to go to Menu -> Settings -> Xperia Connections and select Duplicating screen. After that, in a new window you need to click on the Start button and the smartphone will put on the TV itself and connect to it.

Connecting your phone to your TV viaWiFi Direct

This method is used if there is no router at home, and you need to establish a connection directly between the phone and the TV.

Step 1. Find the WiFi Direct function on your smartphone in the wireless networks and connections section and activate it.

Step 2. In the TV menu, on the “Network” or “Connections” tab (depending on the model), find and activate the WiFi Direct function. Some TV models have a special button on the remote control to launch Direct.

Step 3. Select a phone from the list of devices available for connection and confirm the connection.

As you can see, everything is quite simple. However, if something is not clear to you, ask a question in the comments - we will try to help.

It’s good when you can control the TV without getting up from the couch, and even better when you can do it from another room, going about your business. Mobile phones have become an integral part of life, and having a TV remote control on it is very convenient. This function is provided via iPhone (iPod/iPad) or Android smartphone. It not only allows you to change channels, but also launch applications.

Benefits of mobile control

Using your phone as a remote control to control your TV, at first glance, will seem like a joke, self-indulgence, or an extra option. But, since the range of its use has recently expanded greatly, this turned out to be a very useful function. From your smartphone you can access built-in internet browser, allowing you to quickly find the information you need and view it on the big screen. The popular video hosting YouTube and social networking resources allow you to search and view interesting videos (find out). Good screen quality and high display resolution will provide the opportunity to play them in good quality. Using your phone's keyboard, navigating the Internet is much easier and more convenient. Mobile pairing with a device makes it possible to use the full functionality of the TV in a simplified form.

It should be noted that remote control can be carried out from a smartphone, but not all TVs may support this function. This functionality is built into modern models of medium or high price categories of equipment from such manufacturers as:

  • LG TV - smart since 2011;
  • Samsung, which provided supportALL Share 2010-2011 models;
  • TV from Sony 2011 with Internet access;
  • Philips, where control using a mobile phone is carried out in 2010-2011 models with supportNet TV.

Limited control of the TV from the phone may be possible if the Wake-On-LAN function is available. In this case, you can turn off the equipment via your smartphone or use only navigation.

Smartphone connection algorithm

If, when purchasing, attention was not focused on the ability to control equipment via phone, you should look at the capabilities of this function in the technical documentation. If you have this functionality, you can configure your phone. Let's take a step-by-step look at how to make the TV menu more accessible.

  1. If you have a wireless connection, using Wi-Fi enabled router, must be produced. If this interface is not available and you are using cable Internet, you should connect the cable to the Ethernet connector.
  2. Upload what you need Remote App application depending on the model of equipment. Each brand has an application name: for Samsung it is Samsung Remote, for Sony it is Media Remote, LG models use LG TV Remote, and Philips uses Philips My Remote.
  3. Pair your TV and smartphone. A remote control confirmation window should appear on the display. If this does not happen in automatic mode, you need to go to the TV menu and enable this option yourself. for Iphone are listed in the article about it.

The ability to control your TV via your smartphone will be a big boon. Such a malfunction always occurs unexpectedly and causes discomfort, since switching it using the rear panel buttons is not very convenient. In addition, the phone is always at hand, it is easier to find than the remote control. This is especially common in families with children. Therefore, perhaps, instead, you should pay attention to the functionality of your smartphone.

Currently, smartphones have become quite widespread and have become an integral part of our daily lives. And the more time passes, the more “smart” and advanced they become. However, along with the development of phones and tablets, consumer demands for mobile devices are growing at an even faster rate. And if previously a device that could make calls and send SMS satisfied almost all requests, now it is not enough for us to get access to the World Wide Web from Android and the ability to use various applications for work and leisure.

One of the innovations that the developers came up with was connecting the phone to the TV. Agree that watching movies, playing games and chatting with friends on a huge screen is much more convenient than on a phone. But a TV with a similar filling for such actions would turn into a computer, and this would greatly affect its cost. In our case, there is a combination of a decent-sized display and the hardware of a smartphone or tablet - cheap and cheerful. Apple set the trend for this with its iPhone, where a similar function was implemented via Wi-Fi using a specially connected set-top box. Other manufacturers also did not lag behind and stuffed their devices with similar options. Now we will talk about them in more detail.

There are no limits to the possibilities - watch videos and photos on the big screen

How can I connect?

There are several ways to connect a smartphone to a TV:

  • HDMI is the most common and convenient option for gadgets with the Android system, which, if there are appropriate cable outputs, allows you to transfer not only data, but also a picture with sound;
  • USB is an old and reliable method using a cable that comes with all devices. This allows you to avoid additional financial and time costs for its search and acquisition. But in this way only data can be transferred, and viewing media files is not possible;
  • RCA - the well-known “tulips”, differ from HDMI in that a separate cable is responsible for each option;
  • Wi-Fi is the most modern and convenient wireless option, which has undoubted advantages and allows you to implement the entire package of options.

The most convenient way

We will now talk about how to connect a phone or tablet to a TV via Wi-Fi. For the purposes we are interested in, both special programs have been developed, which are released by the manufacturers themselves to connect devices of the same brand to each other, as well as universal ones, suitable for gadgets of different brands.

All specially designed programs for connecting a phone or tablet to a TV are widely available and completely free. Once installed on the device and connected via Wi-Fi, they are automatically synchronized and do not require additional configuration. The main condition is that the network must be the same to which the TV is connected. Here is a small list of them:

  • Sony TV SideView;
  • LG TV Remote;
  • View;
  • Philips MyRemote;
  • Panasonic TV Remote 2;
  • Toshiba Remote.

The most common universal programs are MediaServer, DLNA Server and UPnP. We install them on a smartphone or tablet, connect the TV to Wi-Fi, allow wireless access for both devices - and enjoy. However, sometimes some brands of TVs and phones do not want to connect.

And the most universal way to connect a tablet or smartphone to a TV via Wi-Fi is the Wi-Fi Direct function. The main condition for this type of connection is its presence on both devices, and the contact will be made directly - via Wi-Fi without connecting through a router. On the phone, go to the menu: “Device Settings” - “Wireless Networks and Connections” - “Wi-Fi Direct" - and activate this function. On the TV: “Menu” - “Network” - “Wi-Fi Direct” - and select the required device. Confirm on your smartphone that you allow access to another device - and you're done!

Finally

Living in the modern world, it is necessary to keep up with technological progress and keep up with the times. The ability to connect a tablet or smartphone to a TV is one of the skills that will make your life much more comfortable. Spending a little time and effort to do the steps described above will provide you with great pleasure in the future. After all, technologies are created for us, people.

If you have a modern TV that connects to your home network via Wi-Fi or LAN, then most likely you have the opportunity to use your Android and iOS phone or tablet as a remote control for this TV; all you need to do is download the official application from the Play Store or App Store, install it and configure it for use.

This article provides an example of setting up a remote control for a Sony Bravia TV on your phone, as well as a brief description of official applications with remote control functions for LG, Samsung and Philips TVs. I note that all these applications work over a network (that is, both the TV and the smartphone or other device must be connected to the same home network, for example, to the same router - it doesn’t matter via Wi-Fi or a LAN cable). You may also find it useful: , .

Note: there are universal remote controls in application stores that require the purchase of a separate IR (infrared) transmitter for the device, but they will not be considered in this article. Also, the functions of transferring media from a phone or tablet to TV will not be mentioned, although they are implemented in all the programs described.

Remote control for Sony Bravia TV on Android phones and iPhones

I’ll start with Smart TV from Sony, since this is exactly the kind of TV I have and, having lost the remote control for it (and there is no physical shutdown button on it), I was forced to look for an application to use my phone as a remote control.

The official remote control application for Sony equipment, and in our particular case, for the Bravia TV, is called Sony Video and TV SideView and is available in the app stores for both Android and iPhone.

After installation, upon first launch, you will be asked to select your television provider (I don’t have one, so I chose the first one that was suggested - this does not play a role in the operation of the remote control), as well as a list of TV channels for which the program should be displayed in the application .

After that, go to the application menu and select “Add device”. The network will be searched for supported devices (the TV must be turned on at this time).

Select the desired device, then enter the code that will be displayed on the TV screen at this time. You will also see a request whether to enable the ability to turn on the TV from the remote control (to do this, the TV settings will change so that it is connected to Wi-Fi even when it is turned off).

Ready. A remote control icon will appear in the top line of the application, clicking on it will take you to the remote control options, which include:

  • Standard Sony remote (scrolls vertically, takes up three screens).
  • On separate tabs there is a touch panel, a text input panel (they only work if a supported application or settings item is open on the TV).

In case you have multiple Sony devices, you can add them all to the app and switch between them in the app menu.

You can download the Sony Video and TV SideView Remote from the official application pages:

LG TV Remote

The official application that implements the functions of the remote control on iOS and Android for LG TV. Important: There are two versions of this application, for TVs released earlier than 2011, use LG TV Remote 2011.

Once you launch the app, you'll need to find a supported TV online, after which you can use the on-screen remote on your phone or tablet to control its functions, change the channel, and even take screenshots of what's currently showing on the TV.

Also, on the second screen of the LG TV Remote, functions for accessing applications and transferring content using SmartShare are available.

You can download the remote control for TVs from official app stores

Samsung Smart View and Samsung TV and Remote (IR)

There are two official applications - remote control. The second of them is intended for phones with a built-in IR transmitter-receiver, and Samsung Smart View is suitable for any phone and tablet.

Just like in other such applications, after searching for a TV on the network and connecting to it, you will have access to remote control functions (including a virtual touchpad and text input) and transferring media content from the device to the TV.

Judging by the reviews, the application does not always work as it should, but it’s worth a try, and it’s possible that by the time you read this review, the shortcomings have been fixed.

Philips MyRemote

Naturally, all the standard functions of such applications are present: watching online TV, transferring videos and images to the TV, managing saved recordings of programs (the remote control application for Sony can also do this), and in the context of this article - remote control of the TV, as well as its configuration .

Unofficial TV remotes for Android

When searching for TV remotes on Android tablets and phones on Google Play, you come across many unofficial applications. Among those that have good reviews and do not require additional equipment (connect via Wi-Fi), we can note applications from one developer, which can be found on their FreeAppsTV page.

The list of available ones includes applications for remote control of TVs from LG, Samsung, Sony, Philips, Panasonic and Toshiba. The design of the remote control itself is simple and familiar, and from the reviews we can conclude that basically everything works as it should. So, if for some reason the official application does not suit you, you can try this version of the remote control.

With the development of the Internet and the connection of televisions to the World Wide Web, we have entered a new era when your Apple iPhone (iPod/iPad) or Google Android smartphone can be used as a remote control. Using your phone, you can select the channel you want to watch, adjust the volume and use the more convenient smartphone keyboard to navigate the Internet.
In this guide, we'll help you get the hang of it.

Controlling your TV using your smartphone

Before we talk about how you can control a modern Smart TV using a smartphone, it’s worth answering the question, why is this necessary? One of the reasons is that the mobile phone has become one of the essential items that is always at hand. And, more importantly, the ability to use the phone's keyboard to navigate the Internet, including typing when searching for movies on YouTube, Netflix and other Internet services, as well as media sources on the home network.

Controlling your TV using your smartphone - especially convenient if you want to use the TV's smart features

Not all TVs support remote control via smartphones, but more and more recent models are getting this capability, and even some Blu-Ray players. If you have a mid-range or higher-end TV from 2010, there's a good chance it will support this feature. If you bought a TV this year, your chances increase significantly. To find out exactly, look at the capabilities of your specific TV model on the manufacturer’s website. Currently, the following manufacturers integrate the function of controlling the TV from a smartphone:
Samsung
LG
Sony
Panasonic
Philips

Step-by-step installation wizard guide

1. Home network
First of all, you need a wireless home network so that your smartphone and TV can communicate through it. If you don't have a wireless router, you can purchase one from your local computer hardware store. Preferably with support for the fast "N" option for the Wi-Fi wireless standard.
2. Connect the TV to the network
Now you need to connect your TV to your home network either through a wireless connection or cable.

Cable connection
If you plan to connect your TV via cable, installation is simplified. You just need to plug the cable into the Ethernet sockets and you're done.
Wireless Wi-Fi interface,
Wi-Fi will require you to go through an installation procedure. Few TVs yet come with integrated Wi-Fi, so you may need a USB-connected Wi-Fi module from your TV manufacturer. After this, you need to go through the network setup menu. First, step-by-step installation in the TV menu and then select the previously installed home wireless network. Then enter your login password and you should be all set to go.

3. Download the management application
Now you need to download the Remote App for your Apple or Android smartphone. The application you select depends on your TV, see the table below for application names and links.
4. Pairing TV and phone
Before using your smartphone for control, you must pair it with the TV. Open the app and follow the onscreen instructions. Sometimes you will also have to go to the TV menu and enable the remote control option there.
5. Use it

Now you're ready to control your TV from Apple's Android or iOS smartphones.

The smartphone has long migrated from the category of ordinary phones that are used purely for calls. Hundreds of different applications allow you to turn your smartphone into various digital devices, thereby making our lives much easier.
So today, I want to show you how to make a universal IR remote control from almost any smartphone, with which you can control TVs, stereo systems and other equipment.

We need absolutely little: two IR LEDs, which can be torn out of old remote controls or bought -. Three and a half millimeter jack plug from old headphones or buy -.

Smartphone with Android system and internet to download the application from Google Play.

Diagram of an IR remote control from a smartphone

All you need is to solder two LEDs back-to-back to the connector. And your console will be ready. You need to solder to the outputs of the left and right channels, the common output will not be used.

Assembling the attachment for the IR remote control

First of all, I glued the LEDs together with super glue, twisted the leads and soldered them.

Next I shortened the outputs, as they turned out to be too long. Then I cut off the common wire at the plug with wire cutters and soldered the LEDs to the central terminals. Everything turned out pretty neat.

Now all this requires a body. Since I took a new plug with a housing, I simply cut off the top with a stationery knife and assembled the entire console.

You can fill everything with hot glue or put it on and blow it with heat shrink tubing.
This completes the assembly.

Installing the application

Follow this link and download the application to your phone with installation.

After installation, launch the application, select the model of your equipment in the settings that you want to manage. Click on the buttons that appear to check the operation of the console.
The little thing is very convenient, considering the large number of remote controls in one phone.
PS: If the application suddenly doesn’t work or you don’t like it, then you can look for another one. To do this, enter “Audio IR” in the Google Play search bar.
Now you can take this tiny console with you anywhere and control various equipment in public areas.

Today, almost every home has a wide variety of equipment: a smart TV, a stereo system, a router, a home computer (desktop) or laptop, as well as external storage or for storing photos, movies and music. All of these devices can be conveniently controlled from a distance, and for complete comfort it would be convenient to use a single remote control for all components at the same time. Such a universal control panel can be a smartphone running on the Android, iOS or Windows Phone operating system, which, as a rule, is always with you. Using appropriate applications, a smart phone becomes a universal tool for controlling computers and other devices, capable of replacing classic TV remote controls, optimizing your home wireless network, and controlling heating and alarm systems.

In this article, I will tell you what programs you will need to install on your smartphone in order to turn your smartphone into a universal remote control. Considering the fact that not every application is available for the three main platforms: Android, iOS and Windows Phone, you can find a corresponding alternative for each of the options described in the article. Only a few programs require the use of an unlocked smartphone, namely or.

Wireless Tools

Managing devices on the network

It is often difficult to detect problems with your home network, especially if many gadgets are connected to each other. With the Fing app, you can quickly test your home network and all the devices connected to it. This way, you can immediately see which computers, smartphones and servers are active, which IP addresses are assigned to the corresponding devices, which services are configured and which ports are open for them. There is also an attractive Wake-on-LAN (WoL) feature, through which gadgets connected to your home network are woken up from sleep mode at the touch of a button.

The WoL function is supported by almost all modern computers and laptops, some of them can even be “woke up” via a wireless network. All settings and changes can be saved in the application and, if necessary, restored from a backup copy. The free version of Fing is aimed at home users. If you want to use more professional features (for example, rich tools for monitoring and backup to cloud storage), you can easily find a price list with access to Home, Pro and Enterprise licenses on overlooksoft.com.

Wake-on-LAN: remotely turn on your computer

The Wake on LAN feature wakes up your computer using a signal over the network. In practice, if you use your computer as a media center or want to quickly access multiple files, you don't necessarily need to go near the device. If the computer is in sleep mode, you can send it a so-called “magic packet” from a smartphone or tablet. There are enough applications of this kind: for iOS I recommend WakeUp - The Wake on LAN tool (59 rubles), for Android - the free Wake On LAN program. And for Windows Phone, developer Hassenbach offers the WakeOnLand tool.

Improving Wi-Fi Signal

The quality of a wireless network signal depends on many factors. Sometimes, to significantly increase the range and increase the data transfer speed, it is enough to simply move the router a little or change the data transmission channel. By the way, you can read more about optimizing your home network. To optimize wireless network parameters as quickly as possible, there is the WiFi Analyzer application from the developer farproc.

The program allows you to measure and analyze the strength of a wireless signal. To achieve this, WiFi Analyzer offers various graphical tools, including an overview of all wireless networks, including distribution channels, signal strength of individual networks and a practical assessment of available channels.

To use this utility, go to the room with the lowest signal level. Launch the program and check which channels are most actively used by other wireless networks. Pay attention to the channel numbers with the strongest signal and tune your network to another one with a difference of two or more channels. In this case, the receiving device will have fewer problems recognizing the information transmitted to it.

Intercepter-NG: network parameter analysis for professionals

Using conventional analysis tools, you can obtain a considerable amount of information, but for network specialists this amount of data is sometimes not enough. If you need accurate network traffic analysis, Intercepter-NG can help. This application has a network brute force mode for passwords. Convenient, given the lack of sensible software with the same functions for Windows. The tool works exclusively on rooted smartphones.

Multimedia Applications

Play media files on your home network

The BubbleUPnP Android app specializes in visually aggregating multimedia content from all the PCs and gadgets on your home network and sending it to your playback device: TV, AV receiver or video projector. The program uses the widely used UPnP/DLNA standard to transfer data. It can also work with Google Chromecast. The location of the files does not matter: in BubbleUPnP, tracks and videos from different home devices can be collected into single playlists. In addition, the application supports Internet services such as Google Music, as well as popular cloud storage services. The function of sorting by type of media files and bookmarks is conveniently implemented. On smartphones with superuser rights, using the additional Audio Cast module, you can receive and transmit audio content from other programs, for example, Audible, SoundCloud or Spotify. The free version of BubbleUPnP includes advertising materials and has limited functionality. In particular, the number of tracks in playlists is limited. The cost of the full version is 140 rubles. With the optional BubbleUPnP server, you can use your PC to transcode files.

Plex Media Server: Consolidating Media Libraries

The Plex app works in conjunction with the Plex Media Server program, which you need to install on your PC or NAS. The utility organizes all your videos, music and photo collections and broadcasts them to the TV screen, and using a smartphone application you can manage the content remotely. There are programs to choose from for Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Windows 8 operating systems, as well as for home theaters, smart TVs and game consoles. But note that almost all of them also offer paid content.

Organize files using your smartphone

Using the ES Explorer file manager, you control not only those files that are stored on the smartphone itself. By connecting to the Internet and cloud storage, you will be able to manage files on all devices. This way, you can easily connect to network hard drives, computers and online storage, including on the road.

The free application supports FTP, SFTP, Webdav protocols, as well as cloud services such as Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive and others. To exchange data, you can connect a smartphone with the installed application to a PC via a wireless network or Bluetooth. This makes your smartphone the central interface and indispensable tool in your home network. Using the optional ES Chromecast Plugin, you can send all media content from the file manager to the Google Chromecast service for playing movies on TV. In addition, the application also has all the classic features of a file manager. File managers are not available for iOS and Windows Phone. Here you can only find offers from various cloud services and NAS manufacturers.

Kodi (HVMC): movie database for smartphones

This is one of the most famous and popular media centers for PCs and home servers. With the Android app, you get an entertainment package on your smartphone, including the features of the PC version. Since the Kodi app is under development, it is not yet available on the official Play Store. The ARK file can be found on the Internet at kodi.tv. The developer also offers an iOS version that can be installed on iPhone and iPad, but only after jailbreak. An alternative media center for all three mobile platforms is Plex. However, it requires an additional server on your computer or NAS.

Remote control of home appliances

Using your smartphone as a PC mouse

A home computer is ideal as a multimedia center: only controlling a mouse and keyboard from the sofa is not entirely comfortable for the user, and the functionality of classic remote PC control is in most cases very limited. It is much more comfortable to work with it using a smartphone. On Android and iOS devices, this is done through the Remote Mouse application, which combines the functions of a mouse, keyboard and special keys.

For Windows Phone, there is an equivalent alternative - the PC Remote utility. For it to work, you need to install a client program on your PC.

Remote control of Kodi media center

The Yatse Android app is more than just a remote control for Kodi media centers (KHMCs): along with classic features, the program offers a Wake-on-LAN option, creates playlists, downloads movies, music and photos to smartphones or vice versa, and also plays data from the phone in the media center. If you don't want to miss any news on TV while watching a movie, you can send a signal to Kodi and pause the movie. The basic options are free, but to get full functionality you need to buy the application (284 rubles).

Intelligent Home Control for Beginners

Home automation devices are ready to go in just a few minutes with convenient beginner packages. Not only setup, but also management is very simple, since most gadget manufacturers offer corresponding applications for smartphones. For inexperienced users, for example, RWE SmartHome (from 25,000 rubles) is suitable. In addition to radiator thermostats, the RWE system offers smoke detectors, adapters, motion sensors and IP cameras.

For home control, we recommend the Gigaset elements system (from 10,000 rubles), also aimed at beginners and captivating with its ease of use. The Gigaset system includes an IP camera, security alarm installation, motion sensors and door and window closing sensors.

Remote controls for all home appliances

Many smartphones have a built-in infrared transmitter for using the device as a remote control for a TV, projector and receiver. With the Smart IR Remote app from developer Color Tiger, you can program the remote's functions with virtually no restrictions, for example using your own macros. With one press of a button you can simultaneously turn on the TV and receiver on a given channel and with a given volume. In addition, the Smart IR Remote is compatible with the Tasker control automation application.

Remote access to a Windows PC

If you not only want to remotely control your computer, but would like to see the operating system interface on the smartphone screen, then Microsoft Remote Desktop is the best application for this purpose.

It is especially convenient if your PC has Windows 8 or 10 installed, which can be controlled via a smartphone much easier than, for example, Windows 7. If a particular gesture on a small display does not work as required, a menu is displayed in the upper corner of the application screen navigation with the necessary controls.

Smart add-on for TV or projector

If you want to further equip your TV and connect it to a PC and smartphone, Apple, Google and Microsoft offer the appropriate equipment.

With Apple TV (about 7,000 rubles), you can play media files from your iPhone on your TV or mirror the entire display. Android users will find a suitable replacement thanks to Chromecast (about 4,000 rubles).

Although the HDMI adapter uses a different approach, it displays the contents of the display on the TV screen or transmits movies, music and photos. The Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (about 5,000 rubles) relies on the Miracast data transfer standard and is therefore compatible with Windows, Windows Phone and Android.
