Check the domain for search engine sanctions. The fastest way to check a domain for search engine sanctions. Eliminating Google sanctions - checklist

Search engine algorithms are constantly changing, new factors and filters appear. In approximately half of the cases, sharp jumps in traffic occur precisely on the date of the release update, the introduction of a new filter, or the next wave of search sanctions.

To help webmasters diagnose the reasons for traffic changes, we have developed a free search diagnostic tool - .

The tool takes data on site traffic from Yandex and Google using the Y.Metrica API or Google Analytics. The data is displayed in a graph, where sharp jumps in traffic can be compared with the dates of changes in algorithms and the introduction of new filters.

For example, the graph shows that a cargo transportation patient’s traffic from Google dropped sharply immediately after the release of Panda 4.1 at the end of September:

For an online electronics store, traffic from Yandex began to gradually decline in March, when the cancellation of the link was officially announced:

The astronomical portal lost 2/3 of visitors from Yandex in September, and the date of its drawdown coincides with the next wave of pessimism for boosting the PF:

Here is another portal - a construction one. The graph shows that after changing the AGS algorithm in mid-April, traffic from Yandex increased sharply - obviously, the filter was removed:

But after the first wave of the June release, traffic began to decrease again - probably the site could not cope with the new ranking formula and again lost visibility in the search:

It happens that the moment of traffic drop does not coincide with the dates of algorithmic updates. In this case, the reason must be sought in manual sanctions or some other problems:

The tool also shows changes by visits for the most visited pages and for 50 popular queries. This helps to understand which landing pages caused the traffic to drop and for which queries the site’s visibility decreased:

The tool is absolutely free, as it does not require many resources to process the data. Enjoy it for your health.

Step-by-step instructions for diagnosing the causes of traffic drops can be found.

If you do SEO for your website, then you will agree that it’s great to know the reasons why your traffic has dropped. It’s great in the sense that you can influence the situation and return the resource’s position to its previous place. And it happens when the site’s performance drops for mysterious reasons - at this moment you put on the costume of an investigator and do everything to “The Secret becomes clear.” In fact, everything is less tragicomic - it is advisable to first of all figure out whether the site has fallen under Yandex sanctions and Google sanctions? In this case, we will tell you in more detail how to check a site for search engine sanctions and what to do next.

If you suspect that your site has been subject to Yandex or Google sanctions (also called filters), your webmaster will first help you figure it out. Go to management and note the following:

  • As you can see from the screenshot, search engine employees did not apply filters manually. Follow a similar procedure in Yandex. Webmaster - this way you will pass the Yandex sanctions check.

If they realized that search engine employees did not impose sanctions, the site could fall under algorithmic filters. Alas, in this case no one will warn you.

Such automatic filters are introduced onto the site directly by search engines based on their operating algorithms.

What you should pay attention to if you suspect the presence of filters:

  • If the site’s organic search traffic has gone down, check the availability of the resource, the presence of the analytics code on the site and make sure that today is not the first day of the New Year ☺ If these reasons are excluded, the next advisable step would be to check the site for sanctions

  • If your site or its individual pages are not in the index of search engines Yandex and Google. Monitor whether a site is indexed or not using tools for site webmasters
  • If a site’s position has dropped sharply in search results, it happens that search engines have not stopped indexing the site or its pages at all, but simply significantly reduced the position of the resource, sending it over the hill from the TOP

How to check a site for filters

So, your site has detected symptoms characteristic of the presence of filters - we confirm their presence and look for the reasons.

Checking the site for Google filters - your actions:

  • Make sure Google hasn't manually applied penalties
  • Use site checking services for Google filters
  • PageRank is one of many ways to determine the relevance of a resource. If this indicator drops sharply, it means that the site is likely to be under filters
  • And if you are 100% sure that the resource was automatically sanctioned by Google, submit a request for the next inspection

Checking the site for Yandex filters - our recommendations:

  • If the site has completely disappeared from the search engine index, try the service “Report a new site”– you will receive a letter from Yandex stating that the site has been banned
  • Write to Yandex support using the menu Ask a Question in Webmaster. Tell them in detail about the problems you identified and ask them to explain the reasons. If filters are indeed applied to the site, the violations will be explained to you in detail.

Eliminating Google sanctions - checklist

If Google has manually sanctioned you, check the notification in Google Search Console. There you will see the reasons in more detail and find out what to do to eliminate them.

If the problem is an algorithmic filter, you need to determine the type. What are the sanctions:

  • If artificial links were excessively used during SEO promotion of the site. Your resource will be penalized manually by Google employees. The Penguin filter can also penalize a site if it manipulated links and used black hat SEO methods. To eliminate sanctions, try to exclude all existing artificial links from the site.

Here's our example:

We checked at panguintool.barracuda.digital/dashboard

Here you can clearly see how much total traffic is on the project - where the ups and downs are noted. If the output of the filter coincided according to the graph with the fall, then it would immediately become obvious that we were under the filter.

  • If you abused non-unique and low-quality content on the site, you will immediately receive sanctions. If the resource contains a lot of all kinds of advertising, site navigation is inconvenient for users or page loading is extremely slow - similarly.
  • First, exclude content that you borrowed from competitors’ sites. Write and constantly post articles that are useful for users, helping to solve some issue or problem. DO NOT publish more than 2 advertising banners or blocks on a website page. Take care of the usability of the site and the instant loading speed for users
  • If you commit gross violations of Google requirements, you are provided with sanctions - 950 or -30. For example, they used cloaking, doorways, hidden text and links. If, for example, the text has been stuffed with keywords, and it no longer sounds natural and is perceived by readers, they will assign you a -30 filter
  • If you use keywords in the domain name, use direct entry. Thus, you are not providing valuable content, and the relevance here is zero.
  • Once you have eliminated all violations, submit a second application to have your site checked. Tell us in your letter the details of your work and provide real examples.

Checking the site for Yandex sanctions and eliminating it

As already said, if you contact the support service for help, make sure there are sanctions or their absence. Yandex employees will tell you in detail about the reasons, and you can easily return the site’s positions to their previous places.

Top 7 Internet Marketing Tips

We check common Yandex sanctions:

  • Yandex sanctions AGS - imposed for low-quality content that does not benefit site visitors. If, for example, you also post a lot of links or even steal other people’s texts and pass them off as your own.

You can check for the presence of AGS here – a.pr-cy.ru/arkhiz.net/

How can these sanctions be lifted?

Make sure that your website is valuable and useful for users, fill the resource with competent content that answers audience questions. Make your site easy to use – your visitors will appreciate it!

  • Sanctions if you over-optimized the content, filled the texts with key phrases and words - think about the people who read your materials. Write competent articles that will help site visitors or tell you about something new.
  • Let's give an example of a site crash due to an update to the Core Quality algorithm, which evaluates the quality of content on the site and, if the content is not relevant enough, the page is excluded:

  • It is also likely that you will encounter an affiliate filter if you own two or more resources on similar topics. Yandex will leave in the index the site of the two that is most relevant to the users’ request.
  • Just like Google, you will get banned if you manipulate the results with artificial links. Just don’t buy links – and everything will be fine ☺
  • Sanctions if behavioral factors are increased. If Yandex pays even more attention to these factors, the role of such a filter will become significant. Stop manipulation ☺

As soon as violations have been excluded, report this to the Yandex Service - tell in detail what steps you went through to exclude filters, give real examples. And you will be happy ☺

Conclusion

We have systematized all kinds of sanctions from Yandex and Google, talked in detail about each filter and why they can be imposed. If organic traffic on your site has dropped at lightning speed, your resource has been excluded from indexing, or your site has begun to occupy lower positions in search results, check to see if search engines have imposed sanctions.

For this, use the special services that we have reviewed, or contact Yandex and Google support. If sanctions are detected, correct the errors made according to the system requirements and resubmit the site for verification. As soon as you put your site in order and properly fulfill all the requirements of search engines, the filters will be safely removed.

We wish to remain outside the sanctions of search engines, and if you accidentally get into this area, it is easy to solve problems and return the resource to a full life and good indexing. Let the resource be useful and interesting to users, and only white hat methods are used in SEO promotion. Good luck! ☺

We've released a new book, Social Media Content Marketing: How to Get Inside Your Followers' Heads and Make Them Fall in Love with Your Brand.

It’s cool when you know exactly why traffic on the site has dropped and positions are dangling far from the top. But there are situations in which the lack of growth in indicators becomes a real mystery. Sometimes SEOs become real detectives. Let's look at how to check whether a site is under Yandex. Let's learn how to recognize the Yandex filter by symptoms. At the end, I will add an algorithm of actions on how to accurately find out that a site has fallen under the Yandex filter.

Check the site for Yandex filter: overspam

One of the most common filters. The problem is that sometimes a working page that has been in the top for some time can unexpectedly go under the spam filter. When positions drop sharply by 10-15 points, you should immediately check the document for oversaturation with keywords.

Symptoms:

  • A sharp drop in positions for one request by 10-20 points;
  • When modifying a search query, positions increase significantly;
  • For other queries leading to the page, the document is ranked as expected.

We check this way: take the request of interest, for example, “legal support”. We type it into the Yandex search bar and find our page. For example, we are in 19th place. Then we slightly change the word form of the query or change the order of words, for example, “legal support,” and see how the position of our page for this query has changed. If the difference is 10-15 points and the remaining conditions are met, we can diagnose overspam with a high degree of probability.

Treatment:

We simply reduce the number of occurrences of this query or change its word form. We wait, if it doesn’t help, we remove another entry and again wait for the update. Ideally, analyze your competitors and count the number of occurrences of a given key on their pages and do the same on your own.

It makes sense to check the anchor sheet of the document. Perhaps the spam occurred due to an excessive number of keywords in the link anchors

Define Yandex filter: re-optimization

Also common. Mainly punished are pages with excessive bold/italics, inconsistent sentences, and a huge number of characters.

Symptoms:

  • A sharp drop in the page in search across the entire group of queries leading to the page;
  • The decline is 20-30 positions (the site is in the TOP-30 or TOP-40);
  • Significant loss of traffic.

We check:

It is necessary to compare our document with a competitor who is 5-10 positions higher. We do this using the designrequest (site:nashsite.ru | site: konkurent.ru) . Let's see if every time we substitute a competitor in a request, we see that our site is locatedbelowand other conditions are met, there is a high probability that this is over-optimization. For example, request“buy a bouquet of flowers”, and the entire group leading to the relevant page sank. We find our document in the search, for example, in the 40th position. We look at 5 documents that are above us in the 35th...30th positions. One by one, we substitute them into the comparison request and see which site ranks higher.

Treatment:

We completely change the text of the page, remove bold and italics. When rewriting the text, we try to make it useful and human. We are trying to get into the thematic cluster, well, that’s a separate story about content writing.

A great example of re-optimized text:

Check the site for Yandex filters: “untitled”

This filter is also called “new filter” or “ranking restriction”. Very similar to over-optimization, but there is one significant difference that makes this filter much nastier. It punishes a group of pages with similar topics at once, throwing out pages beyond the TOP 100.

Symptoms:

  • One to one similarity with over-optimization;
  • Sagging of an entire cluster of pages by 50-100+ points.

Check:

Based on the principle of checking over-optimization, using the same search query we compare our site with a competitor from the TOP-50. That is, 49th... 40th place. If in most cases our resource turns out to behigheranalyzed competitor, there is a high probability that a “ranking limitation” has been imposed.

Treatment:

We remove unnecessary occurrences of queries from different areas of the document, including attributes of pictures and links: alt, title. We are rewriting the text of all pages subject to sanctions. We remove some of the direct entries and excessive highlighting in bold, italics, etc.

Before diagnosing this limitation, it is necessary to exclude all other options for losing positions: server response errors, affiliation, and others.

Manifestation:

Checking a site for Yandex filters: link explosion

A harmless filter that can only be accessed by doing black-and-gray SEO. The disadvantage of a reference explosion is that some time before and some time after the fact of the explosion, reference factors cease to influence positions.

Symptoms:

  • A one-time increase in a large number of links from different domains.
  • No influence on the ranking of link factors.

We check:

Using services like ahrefs.com or megaindex.ru, we look at the dynamics of the growth of backlinks. Well, in general, you are probably aware of the procurement. It is impossible to accurately diagnose the fact of the explosion; it can only be assumed.

Treatment:

Time will heal. Just wait a couple of updates without purchasing links.

If you buy a bunch of links from a single domain, there will be no link explosion. It's easier not to get caught by the filter. Just buy links smoothly from different sources and show constant positive dynamics.

Yandex filters: how to check a site in Minusinsk

A sensational filter for purchasing SEO links. There is a lot of information on it, we won’t go too deep.

What they are punished for:

  • High percentage of SEO links compared to natural links (approximately 40%+ SEO links of the total);
  • Total number of SEO links (no more than 500 SEO links);
  • Anchor list parameters (too many commercial keywords in anchors).

Release date:

The best result is 1 month. The average exit from Minusinsk is 3 months.

Symptoms:

  • The vast majority of queries (except for micro-NPs) fall by approximately 15-20 positions;
  • Metrica shows a sharp decline in traffic from Yandex;
  • It is felt on all subdomains.

Treatment:

We completely refuse to buy SEO links. We remove links and write in those. support that we understood and admitted our mistakes and promise not to be naughty like that again. If possible, speed up page indexing.

You can analyze your link profile, find obvious SEO links and remove only them. Then write to Yandex and report that everything has been fixed. If it doesn’t help, remove another portion of backlinks and repeat the action. Additionally, you can increase the number of natural links.

How to check a site for Yandex filters: PF cheating

Everything here is extremely simple and very tough. If you cheat behavioral factors, be prepared, you will definitely be punished.

What they are punished for:

  • Artificial improvement of PF within the site.
  • Increasing conversions on SEO links.
  • Artificially increasing search traffic.

Symptoms:

  • The site sags sharply for all queries except vital ones;
  • Traffic disappears from search;
  • Yandex technical support gives a clear answer.

A very long period of release from sanctions, sometimes exceeding 9 months. Sometimes it’s easier to start a new website than to get out from under the filter.

Yandex filters: how to check affiliation

They are imposed on the sites of one owner in order to prevent a monopoly in the search results.

Symptoms:

  • Regular jumps in positions for queries that intersect between two sites;
  • For one request, only one of two affiliate sites is shown.

We check:

Using a search query lang:ru ~~ domain: ua<< (url:www.nashsite.ru | url: podozrevaemiy.ru). If you enter this query and only one of the analyzed sites appears, you are affiliated. If both, there is no filter.

Treatment:

  • We are moving to different hosting sites.
  • We change the contact information (so that it is different on affiliated sites).
  • We make a different directory structure (if the sites were made using the same template).
  • We make different structures for landing pages (again, if the sites were made using a template).
  • We change the domain registration data (so that there is not one owner for two domains).
  • We promote using different strategies (for example, so that there is no identical link profile).

Websites thrive in affiliation if they are promoted through a different semantic core.

Check Yandex sanctions: aggressive advertising

Symptoms:

  • Search traffic decreases by 30−50%
  • The site actually has psychedelic advertising

Treatment:

Yandex search filter: adult content

If your site contains profanity or videos containing “adult” content, you will not be shown in Yandex using the family filter. I see no point in describing the symptoms and treatment.

It is rare, but it happens that sites that have links with “adult” anchor text can fall under this filter.

How to check:

We look for our site in the family search, if we don’t find it, uncheck the box and look at the adult search results. If you find your page there, this is it.

Check the site for Yandex sanctions: identical snippets

Sites with non-unique or uninformative snippets are hidden.

Symptoms:

  • Loss of positions for one/several requests;
  • Product cards suffer most often.

How to check:

We go to the search, enter a query and add symbols to the URL&rd=0.Similar to the old “show all” button, we see all, even hidden, results. If there really are identical snippets, this is probably the reason for the drop in positions.

Treatment:

Rewrite the contents of the description meta tag. If a snippet on a website is pulled from some area of the page content, you need to rewrite this part of the text. Including the company name in the snippet helps a lot.

Make sure your snippets are unique within your site!

Yandex search filters: deception of the search engine

Using cloaking, that is, showing different content to the search engine and the user, is bad. Well, in order to mess up like that, you have to really want it. Black Hat SEO experts already know what happens. Therefore, we will not dwell on this.

Checking for Yandex filters: AGS

It mainly affects non-commercial sites aimed at selling links. If you trade links, then this is for you.

Symptoms:

  • The site is more than six months old and TCI = 0;
  • Drop in search traffic.

Treatment:

Very painful. It is necessary to rewrite all the content, remove selling links and other disgrace. In general, if a site is designed to make money through sales links and terrible advertising, then it’s easier to create a new one.

For dessert: algorithm for checking Yandex filters

If there are problems, then we look to see if the site fell under Yandex filters using this algorithm:

  1. We check whether the document is indexed, the server response code, whether there is a ban on indexing, look at the robots meta tag and the robots file, and whether link rel="cannonical" (if any) is configured correctly. If everything is in order, go to point 2.
  2. We look at whether the document passed quorum and look at the link to the promoted region. We simply add the url to the document address: nash-site.ru/document and see if the document is found - everything is in order and go to point 3. If it is not found, then the problem is not with sanctions.
  3. If there is a suspicion of an adult filter, set it to “no restrictions” in the Yandex settings. Let's see if your site is searched. If the filter is not detected, move on.
  4. Site age. We look at the date of the first indexation of the site and understand that if the site is young (less than 3 months), this may be the problem with positions and traffic. You can check this way: enter a request into Yandex, find our site and add &how=tm to the URL line and see the indexation date in the snippet. If it is older than 3 months, we move on.
  5. We check the page for identical snippets. If we find a filter, we stop and work with snippets.
  6. We are looking for an affiliate site using the method of sequentially eliminating suspects.
  7. We look for duplicates on the site to eliminate the possibility of interruption of a relevant page. We check using the title search operator:our titlein order to find the same ones. If we don’t find identical pages, go to step 8.
  8. We look for spam according to the instructions above, modifying search queries. We found overspam - we stop. If you haven't found it, move on.
  9. Let's diagnose over-optimization using the instructions described in this article.
  10. If all points have been passed, but the problem of subsidence of positions and traffic has not been identified, we will write a letter to technical support. support and we are waiting for sad news.

By analyzing the problematic pages of the site using this checklist, you will be able to find the reason with a high degree of probability. Thanks to the instructions above, you will be able to diagnose and find out the sanctions applied, confirm your assumption and solve the problem.

I sincerely hope that the article will help you on the difficult path of website promotion.

Search engines “clean” the Internet space from low-quality websites that use “black” SEO techniques. To this end, new search engine algorithms are introduced from time to time, each of which is aimed at a specific violation. Further, sanctions are applied to the site that limit its operation.

Timely diagnosis and removal from under the filter will help maintain the functionality of the site and the profit of its owner.

How to find out if a site has been filtered

Signs that a site falls under the filter are:

How to check search engine filters

There are special web analytics tools that can help you confirm your guesses about the application of a filter:

  • the number of pages in the search engine index can be checked through Yandex.Webmaster or Google Search Console;
  • You can see changes in traffic after updates to the Yandex and Google algorithms using the SEOLib Sanctions Diagnostics tool; Google uses the Fruition tool;
  • The likelihood of filters being applied to a website that do not use analytics systems can be found out by using the FEInternational service.

Types of filters

There are several classifications of filters:

1. According to the search engine they belong to, Yandex and Google filters are distinguished.

2. Due to the application of the filter, they are distinguished:

  • filters for technical inconsistency of the resource: unadapted resources, lack of useful content, duplication of content, fraud, slow page loading, poor-quality design, low level of functionality;
  • filters imposed for manipulation of search results: cheating of behavioral factors, spamming of keywords in the text, large reference mass.

3. By switching method:

  • manual—turned on by a search engine employee after a violation is detected by a robot; this option is possible if a violation is suspected; the verdict on applying the filter is made by a human;
  • algorithmic - activated by machines when there is a clear violation recorded by search engine robots.

Yandex filters

Since a certain time, Yandex does not take into account external links when “distributing” search results. But he has other methods for identifying dishonest optimizers. Now he focused his attention on trying to cheat behavioral factors.

  • AGS is the most famous Yandex filter. Used to combat low-quality sites.

Poor quality of the site
determined by the following criteria:

  • non-unique texts;
  • problems with functionality, design;
  • availability of outgoing links;
  • aggressive advertising, duplicate pages, cloaking;
  • non-unique page descriptions.

The application of this filter to a website can be determined by the following criteria:

  • New pages are not indexed;
  • the number of visitors is decreasing;
  • Most of the pages fall out of the index.

To restore a site after exposure to an AGS filter, the following measures must be taken:

  • bring the site into compliance with the requirements;
  • remove all SEO links;
  • start regularly posting only unique texts on the site;
  • review navigation;
  • remove aggressive advertising.

Removing a site from the AGS can take up to several months.

Filter for over-optimization

This filter includes sites that post texts with keyword spamming.

What you need to do to avoid Yandex “punishment”:

  • texts should be created for people, not for robots;
  • no need to tag keys.

Filter for cheating behavioral metrics

The filter for cheating behavioral metrics identifies sites that use services to emulate the actions of resource visitors.

Typically, the application of this filter appears as follows:

  • traffic decreases;
  • The site’s position in search results decreases;
  • New pages are indexed very slowly by the system.

To remove this filter, you need to stop manipulating search results.

"Minusinsk"

This filter is applied by the Yandex search engine for exceeding the link mass.

The effect of a filter can be identified by several criteria:

  • drop in traffic;
  • absence of the site on the first page of the search when requesting a domain name;
  • "moving" down several positions in the search results.
To remove this filter from the site, you will have to remove all incoming links of a manipulative nature.

Affiliate filter

By applying an affiliate filter, Yandex “marks” sites that have three or more sites that attract customers to the same organization. Yandex does not approve of this. Places are taken up in search results that could have been taken by other organizations.

The only sign by which you can determine the effect of this filter is the presence in the Yandex search results of only one site out of all created ones. At the same time, Yandex does not ask which of these resources brings the most profit, and it will not be possible to choose the most valuable one and leave it in the search results.

You can avoid enforcement if you create sites that have contacts from the same company and offer different products, then visitors will go to these sites based on different search queries, and the search engine will be quite happy with this.

Nepot filter

The search engine does not recognize that this type of filter exists. But among site owners there are speculations about the presence of an algorithm that blocks the transfer of links and suspends the operation of the site.

There are 2 ways to protect yourself from the nepot filter:

  • do not trade links;
  • When inserting a link to a dubious source, hide the link under the nofollow attribute.

Filter for adult content

If Yandex detects the presence of “adult” materials on the site, it will impose a taboo on site traffic for queries other than “adults”.

Here the method is as old and simple as the hills - you don’t need to use adult content on your website.

Filter for doorways

The presence of doorways usually leads to the exclusion of the site from the search engine results.

The best way to protect your site from being filtered is not to use doorways.

Google filters

Google filters are also aimed at improving the quality of sites, the ability of young “good” sites to occupy top positions in search results, and the fight against violators.

"Panda"

This type of filter reduces the number of visitors low quality resources in order for them to visit quality sites.

Resources that meet several criteria are accepted as high-quality:

  • Quality of site content.
  • Attitude towards site visitors, manifested in the level of functional convenience, usability, design.
  • Absence of foreign and duplicate content.

You can determine that a site has fallen under the Panda filter by the following criteria:

  • drop in traffic;
  • decrease in positions in the search results, the positions of all or several pages of the resource may change, some pages may be dropped into an additional index;
  • slow page indexing.

Changing your marketing strategy will help overcome the barriers created by the filter. Particular attention should be paid to:

  • Content. It must be useful to an audience of sufficient volume. It needs to be updated regularly. The site should not contain pages without text or duplicate pages.
  • Adjustment of technical characteristics of the site.

"Penguin"

The Penguin algorithm was introduced to combat excess link mass:

  • spam;
  • publishing links that are not visible to the site visitor;
  • links to third-party resources;
  • purchasing backlinks.

You can “identify” this filter by the following characteristics:

  • slow indexing of new pages;
  • the loss of some pages into the additional index;
  • reduction of the site in search engine results positions;
  • a sharp decrease in the number of site visitors.

Google displays a message about measures taken by system specialists related to a large number of links.

Remove resource from under Penguin filter Removing and/or rejecting low-quality links to the site and publishing informative unique content will help. To reset the weight of links, you can use a special disavow tool.

Sandbox and Domain Age

Rather, these are parts of the algorithm that impose restrictions on indexing speed on newly created sites. You can not pay much attention to them, you can develop the site in terms of its quality, convenience and information content for the user. Gradually, the site will be removed from these filters.

-5, -30, -950

Reducing the search position by 5, 30 points, reducing the position to 9 hundreds of search results are called filters by optimizers -5, -30 and -950, respectively, although there is still no official confirmation of the existence of such algorithms from Google.

The search engine imposes such filters on sites that violate technical regulations. requirements, and using manipulative techniques to attract visitors:

  • spam by posting links on blogs and forums;
  • promotion methods through doorways and cloaking;
  • uninteresting text, oversaturated with keywords.

Removing filters and returning to previous positions in the search results is possible after eliminating violations of Google requirements and re-indexing the site.

Additional results

"Search engine" can place site pages in an additional index:

  • if “considers” the pages uninteresting, non-unique, similar to many others on this topic;
  • if they have errors in technical execution or the issuance is manipulated;
  • if the site is completely “young”.

There is only one sign here, it is obvious - the ranking of pages is not in the main index, but in the additional index.

To remove a site from the additional index, it is necessary to bring the site to the level of technical requirements of the search engine, start publishing informative, relevant content, and not manipulate the results.

"Co-citation"

If such a problem occurs, you need to remove or reset the weight of such links to the site. If it becomes obvious that this is “the machinations of competitors,” you can report the situation to Google technical support.

“Too many links and pages”

Too many links to the site on third-party resources or laying out a large number of pages can cause consequences such as a decrease in position in the search results and, as a result, a decrease in site traffic.

To prevent such developments, you need to abandon external links and upload pages gradually.

Filter for broken links

In order to prevent search engine interference, it is necessary to regularly check the site with the Link Checker tool and correct detected broken links.

Sites that consider it possible to copy content from other resources may be subject to the filter, which will entail the exclusion of the entire site or part of its pages from search results.

After removing other people's texts from the site or providing links to the source, you need to start filling the site with unique materials.

Filter for over-optimization

The system imposes a filter for over-optimization if the site manipulates the search results:

  • there are an excessive number of keywords in the texts;
  • Key phrases are highlighted in bold or colored font.

A sign that a system limitation is in effect is a decrease in the site’s position in the search results.

To remove the filter, you need to stop manipulating and start creating materials for the site for people, not for search engines.

Filter for slow page loading

If your site's pages load slowly, your site visitors will not be satisfied. Google usually deprives such resources of traffic. This happens by lowering the site’s position in the general search results or in the mobile search results.

Increasing the site loading speed will correct the current situation.

Filter for lack of optimization for mobile traffic

The lack of adaptive layout also does not have the best effect on website promotion. A sign of the application of this filter will be a drop in the site’s position in mobile search results, while positions in general search results will remain at the same level.

To prevent such a problem from arising, experts recommend initially creating a website with adaptive design.

Filters are actually not only not scary, but also useful, especially if you focus on them as the result of a free site audit by search engines. The best course of action is to identify, fix and continue to perform even better!

Yandex filters are tools developed by the search engine to identify low-quality and irrelevant resources and exclude them from the search. This improves the quality of results for users. The restrictions most often include pages promoted by “black” methods using traffic boosting, spam, and other types of “deception” of search engines. But it happens that a site ends up under the Yandex filter for reasons far from malicious intent.

How do you know if a site is under a filter?

The first sign of possible problems is a sharp decrease in the number of visitors from the search for no apparent reason (disabling contextual advertising, seasonal factors, etc.) In this case, you need to look at the traffic statistics and check which type of traffic has dropped. If user transitions from and Yandex have decreased significantly, it means that you urgently need to check the site for the use of search engine filters.

We will not dwell on the specifics of the Google search engine here; we will only note that the reasons for sanctions for all search engines are approximately the same. And the methods for getting out of a “ban” are also similar - the main thing is to identify and correct the mistakes made.

Checking for Yandex filters begins with identifying “symptoms”:

  1. Is the URL present in search results or is it completely excluded? In the latter case, try adding the domain for indexing again. If restrictions are imposed on it, information about the prohibition of indexing will be displayed in an information message.
  2. Check positions for various queries. Is there a sharp “subsidence” of 10, 20 or more positions? Write down these requests - sections related to them are under sanctions.
  3. The site “sank” for all requests and very noticeably? Remember, have you been into anything lately? Very similar to the “symptoms” of the sensational Minusinsk algorithm.
  4. The resource is indexed, but it is not in the search? There may be different reasons for this - “adult” content with a customized family search results, the presence of an affiliate, i.e. another domain that completely or almost completely duplicates the information from yours (common options in the commercial sphere), etc.
  5. Have your positions in search results been significantly lowered or have some pages disappeared from it altogether? We need to look for the reason in possible duplication of content and snippets (SEO data), overspam and other problems with content in problem sections.
  6. The imposition of sanctions is evidenced by the sharp reset of the TIC(thematic citation index, numerical parameter of “weight” and usefulness).

It is important to understand that young domains (up to 6 months old) may have a TIC of 0, and some sections may not be in the index for reasons unrelated to rule violations. It's just that indexing may not be complete yet. But if all the indicators were at their best, and then some or all of them suddenly dropped, your site fell under the Yandex filter. To understand what the problem is, it’s worth understanding the most well-known algorithms.

Overspam

One of the most common problems faced by webmasters. The first “bell” - the resource for a certain request “sags” by 10-15 points or more. Try formulating your request a little differently. If positions immediately increase, and any other results are returned as expected, the problem has been confirmed.

Treatment : Reduce the number of occurrences of the key phrase in the text and wait for indexing.

Reoptimization

A phenomenon that is becoming less and less common, but still relevant. There are too many bold or italics in the text, too many anchors (links) in the text, there are often inconsistent sentences (“key queries” are poorly written into the text), etc.

  • Sudden loss of positions (by 20-30 points) for one or a group of requests.
  • A sharp decrease in traffic from search.

Analysis of the site for Yandex filters is as follows. Compare your project with a competitor who is somewhere 5-10 positions higher.

To do this you will need a search query structure:< запрос>(site: your-site.ru | site: syte-konkurent.ru)

If your competitor ranks higher for every query you select for testing, you most likely have over-optimized content.

Treatment : Rewrite the text in human language so that it is easy to read. Remove highlights except in cases where they are needed for people, not search engines.

“New” algorithm or “Untitled”

For unknown reasons, this version of the search bot never received its own name and remained “new.” In essence, it is practically no different from over-optimization, but it works with resources where a similar problem is typical for all content.

  • Kicks you right out of the TOP 100.
  • In the search, the project is very much lower (50-100 or more positions).

You can check whether the “new” algorithm is under filters using exactly the same method as for re-optimization. Only the difference in results will be much greater. And requests that are not included in the filtering algorithm may not appear at all.

Treatment: change all content to readable content. We get rid of excess key phrases, highlights, etc. After indexing, the resource will gradually return closer to the TOP. This is a long process - almost like for a new domain.

Link explosion

This link filter is dangerous only for fans of buying links and people involved in “black SEO”. When a significant increase in link mass is detected in a short period of time, link ranking factors cease to be taken into account and influence the position of the resource.

To avoid this problem, you need to very carefully build up your external link mass, do it gradually, in small parts, imitating naturalness.

Treatment : Time will help here. And refusal to purchase reference mass in large quantities.

Minusinsk

This algorithm, which was sensational in its time, appeared after Yandex returned a significant part of the “weight” to external links (who doesn’t know, there was a period when they tried to build search results without taking this parameter into account). But to improve the quality of external citations, they added.

The following are subject to punishment:

  • Projects with a very large percentage of purchased link mass (40% or more);
  • Resources with a very large number of similar links (more than 500 pieces).

How to check a site for the Minusinsk filter from Yandex:

  • For almost all queries (except for some low-frequency ones), the search results drop by 15-20 points or more;
  • A sharp decrease in traffic;
  • The problem is present on all pages and subdomains.

If you have such symptoms, it makes sense to remember which ones were purchased at what time, check the link mass (by searching or through aggregators where you bought links). If you have any doubts, you can try writing to the search engine technical support.

Treatment : Complete refusal to purchase external links. We remove everything that we managed to buy earlier and write a letter to Yandex technical support stating that the errors have been recognized and corrected. We ask you to speed up indexing if possible. If it doesn’t help, check again, remove even more backlinks, write again.

Time frame for getting rid of the problem: from 1 to 3 months, sometimes longer.

Cheating behavioral factors

In this case, to find out whether a site has fallen under Yandex filters, it is enough to see that the domain is outside the index and search results in general. Think about whether it’s worth doing cheating.

Most often, “black” optimizers get banned if they are not careful enough, as well as newbie webmasters who use “traffic aggregators.” A search ban is punishable by:

  • for artificially increasing attendance;
  • for cheating behavioral factors;
  • boosting traffic from search engines using SEO links.

As a result, the resource is completely excluded from the search. If in doubt, he will give a clear answer.

The period for removal from sanctions is very long (from 9 months) and without a guarantee of results. A long correspondence with search engine support is required. In most cases it is easier to make a new project.

Affiliation

Affiliate is a Yandex website filter that is applied when web resources with very similar content are identified. Most often this happens when a company creates two or more resources to displace competitors, that is, one is, as it were, a “branch” of the other. In this case, one of the domains is excluded from search results.

To accurately determine the Affiliate, try writing the following construction in a search engine: lang:ru ~~ domain: ua<< (url:www.vash-site1.ru | url: vash-site2.ru).

Check the results - with an affiliate you will only be able to find one of the domains.

What to do:

  • place projects on different ;
  • change the structure and content (let them be less similar to each other);
  • use different promotion strategies.

The optimal solution is to create affiliates with a different semantic core. Then they complement each other perfectly.

Aggressive advertising

Yandex also tries to remove intrusive pop-up banners and “supposedly message” windows, animated large or overly bright banners and other “horrors” that irritate everyone from the search. If you agreed to this type of advertising, you are at high risk.

How to find out that a site has fallen under Yandex filters due to advertising? Look at the pages that “dropped out” from the search, see there. Everything is obvious here.

Treatment : Remove all “flickering” and pop-up banners and wait for indexing.

Adult content

In this case, the project drops out of the results only when setting up the “family delivery option”. Check for a link to your resource with and without a “tick” on the family search option.

Sometimes this algorithm includes sites that do not actually have “adult” content. Check the “anchor” links: most likely, some of them lead to “adult” content. If not, write to technical support.

Identical snippets

The “disease” of many online stores is search snippets, i.e. sets of information in SEO tags () turn out to be almost identical.

Checking the site for Yandex snippets:

  • positions dropped for one or more queries;
  • In online stores, product cards are the first to suffer, followed by categories.

Enter the following construction into the search bar:<запрос> &rd=0

Or use the "show all" button. In any case, the search results will show you which pages the search engine considers the same.

Treatment : change the text in description and wait for indexing.

Famous AGS

And finally, let's discuss the well-known Yandex AGS filter. It is recommended to check for it from article resources, as well as online stores and any other web services where it is possible to fill it with non-unique content and other tricks used by the owners for maximum savings.

The abbreviation stands for somewhat brutally – “anti-shit site”. The reason is that the colloquial name under the abbreviation GS has firmly entered into everyday life and has become a familiar term.

GS refers to projects with low-quality content designed to sell links. The texts on such resources are often illiterate; rewriting (unique retelling) of other people’s articles or even copy-paste, i.e., non-unique texts, is almost always used. There are a lot of external links, often anchors do not even correspond to the topic of the article, etc.

How to check the AGS:

  • TIC = 0, although the domain is already more than 6 months old;
  • a significant drop in search traffic.

The most common victims of AGS are the so-called article resources.

There is only one treatment here: rewrite the content, make it high quality and useful. Get rid of external links. If a resource was created for the purpose of selling links, it’s easier to forget about it and create a new one. Getting out from under the AGS will take the same amount of time and effort.

How to avoid falling under the Yandex filter

For high-quality, interesting and useful web projects, they are not scary. If you follow exclusively “white hat” methods when promoting, pay close attention to the quality of content, work competently with the SEO core, regularly update content, add articles, news and useful information, Yandex search filters are guaranteed to bypass you.

But if you find yourself a victim of your own inexperience or unscrupulous promotion specialists, and you suspect that Yandex filters have been imposed on you, you already know the signs of different types of sanctions, and you can and should fight most of them. Correct your mistakes and don't repeat them again.

If your resource finds itself in a difficult situation and regular error correction does not help, you should contact specialists. We are ready to assist in determining whether a site is under filters in Yandex, removing it from sanctions, or simply deciding whether it’s worth doing this or whether it’s better to start all over again.
